Duct tape is a strong, fabric-based, multi-purpose pressure-sensitive adhesive tape.
It is generally silver in color, but many other colors and transparent
tapes have recently become available. It was originally developed in 1942
during World War II as a waterproof sealing tape for ammunition cases.
Many of my Idaho real estate clients have commented on how much they enjoy receiving my monthly postcard mailers with household tips & ideas. They are fun and interesting!
1. By wrapping a piece of duct tape around your hand with the sticky
side out, you can use it to remove lint or hair from your clothing.
2. To keep a half-finished bag of chips or pretzels fresh, fold up the
top and seal it tight with a piece of duct tape.
3. Tape an extra key to the undercarriage of your car with duct tape
so you never get locked out of your car.
4. Repair a cracked or leaking vacuum cleaner hose with duct tape.
5. Use duct tape to repair an air mattress or a kiddie pool that has a
leak in it.
6. Design your own personal bumper sticker by using duct tape and
then use a marker to print your message.
7. Temporarily hem a pair of pants or jeans with duct tape.
8. Use duct tape as a temporary bandage until you can get medical
attention if you get hurt. Place a tissue or paper towel on the
wound and then use duct tape to protect it.
9. Cover an old folder with duct tape. It will reinforce the sections
and become good as new.
10. For new shoes that rub the back of your heel, use duct tape instead
of a band-aid. The tape will stay in place longer than a band-aid
