Lemons are known for their many uses in flavoring the food we eat,
as a garnish, and for many other household purposes.
1. Fill a glass bowl with lemons for a sunny cheerful centerpiece.
2. Relieve a sore throat. Add the juice of one lemon to an equal amount
of hot water for an anti-bacterial gargle and use three times a day.
3. Clean a microwave by placing half a lemon in water and cook on
high for about five minutes. Then wipe inside the microwave with
a damp cloth.
4. Add 1/2 cup lemon juice to the wash cycle of a normal-size load to
brighten your white clothes.
5. Disinfect a chopping block by running a slice of lemon over the
surface.
6. Eliminate browning when food sits out too long. Sprinkle lemon
juice on apple or pear slices before serving and stir.
7. Remove food stains from plastic and wooden cutting boards. Slice
a lemon in half and squeeze the juice onto the stain, rub, and let sit
for approximately 20 minutes then rinse with water.
8. Remove soft cheese from a grater by rubbing both sides of the grater
with the pulp side of a lemon.
9. Fade tea stains on tablecloths or napkins. Dilute lemon juice with an
equal amount of water and apply with an eyedropper on the stain.
Thoroughly rinse with cool water.
